Assemblin signs agreement with OHLA Sverige for electrical installations, security and automation solutions in Nyköping's new travel center
Assemblin Electrical has been commissioned to carry out electrical and safety installations as well as automation solutions in connection with the construction of Nyköping's new travel center. The project is being carried out on behalf of OHLA Sverige, with the Swedish Transport Administration and the municipality as end customers, and will run until 2027. The order volume amounts to approximately SEK 43 million.
Assemblin's assignment includes comprehensive responsibility for the installation of electrical technology, security and control systems – important technical areas in a facility with high demands on operational reliability, stability and function. The new travel center in Nyköping is an important part of the region's infrastructure investments and will support a modern, safe and efficient hub for travelers.
Assemblin has been chosen as a partner thanks to a stable organization, solid technical expertise and a well-structured proposal – something that is particularly important in a project with international partners with high demands for clarity.
“This is a significant project for the region and we are proud to contribute to the design of a modern travel center that enables sustainable travel. Our broad expertise in electrical, security and automation solutions, together with our experience of complex infrastructure projects, makes us well equipped to deliver a safe and future-proof solution. We look forward to a close and long-term collaboration with all parties involved,” commented Jonas Klarén, CEO of Assemblin Electrical, SVP.
The new travel center is a central part of the ongoing development of the “Eastern Link” and is being built to meet future increased demands for capacity and sustainable travel. The facility will be a modern, safe and accessible hub where travelers can easily switch between train, bus, bicycle and car. The project is run jointly by Nyköping Municipality and the Swedish Transport Administration and includes new platforms, new entrance buildings and improved passages for pedestrians and cyclists. Construction started in 2022 and the travel center is expected to be completed in 2028.
OHLA Sverige AB is carrying out the project on behalf of the Swedish Transport Administration and the municipality, which places high demands on quality, schedule, collaboration and function. The project is also characterized by a strong focus on environmental and work environment, with dedicated functions at the contractor.
“Building a new travel center is a comprehensive and important assignment where time, functionality and quality are crucial. Assemblin's ability to communicate clearly, contribute the right expertise, and deliver according to our technical requirements makes them a strong partner in the project,” says Belen Lerma, Buildings Manager, Nyköping´s Travel Center, OHLA Sverige.
